Job Overview

  • Partner and manage aspects of the Surface Haulage Business Unit annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Be able to frame the “story” within the financials.

  • Prepare monthly sales flash, flash P&L, and monthly financial reporting package for Executive leadership.

  • Prepare financial trends and variance analysis to document business trends and identify areas for improvement.

  • Prepare monthly Executive Staff Meeting materials for the Haulage Business Unit.

  • Ad-hoc analysis supporting the Surface Haulage Business Unit, other business partners, and segments.

  • Review bookings, billings, and backlog (BBB) within Surface Haulage Business Unit

  • Consolidate financials monthly and support Controller of the Surface Haulage Business Unit.

  • Work with Corporate Finance on harmonization, consolidation, and support reporting packages for KMT.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Manage financial planning cycle by preparing templates that will be used to gather relevant data from the Surface Haulage Business Unit.

  • Ensure departmental data is loaded into SAP/BPC and review to Standard Variable Margin (SVM) reporting.

  • Consolidate financial forecasts on a quarterly and annual basis. Compare forecasts with business trends and macro-economic data to determine the reasonableness of the current forecast.

  • Obtain variance explanations for capacity costs within the Surface Haulage Business Unit.

  • Consolidate and report monthly CapEx plan supporting approvals, PO’s, actual and planned spending for the current fiscal year and long-range plan (LRP).

  • Decision support includes analysis of historical financials, obtaining variance explanations, updating risks and opportunities to current plan and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

  • Maintain trends for bookings and sales data by region, product, and commodity.

  • Assist in preparing monthly presentations to Executive Leadership.

  • Support Corporate accounting department for the annual and quarterly forecasts.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Accounting with operational emphasis. Broad understanding of accounting and business operations.

  • SAP and BPC experience

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially strong with data analysis.

  • Ability to interpret data, develop trend lines and assist in formulating action plans.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy a must.

  • Ability to independently and as a team member.

  • Committed to meeting established deliverables on time.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $95,000 - 135,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
